One of Those Weeks

Yup, it's been one of those weeks. It started out great! A long weekend (mid-winter break) followed by a snow day on Monday, always love a snow day! Then Ms. B gets the stomach flu that night. Ugh. She's home from school Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday i have dental work done, that's always a deal breaker, i come home and the spring on the garage door breaks. Great. That night it's Ms. A's turn for the barf bucket. Oh joy. Well, now Ms. A is home, i'm waiting for a garage door repair person (whom is LATE) and my ride is trapped in the garage. Poor Ms. A has to miss her forensic tournament : ( and her ortho appointment : ) Hmmm...needless to say i have done a lot of cleaning, disinfecting and de-cluttering. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a pity-party post...O.K. maybe a tiny party, guess i just needed to vent. Ahhh, O.K. that's better! Got my Big Girl Panties on. Thanks for sitting through that ♡
A big happy smile came in the mail...the most amazing shoe in the world! Isn't it beautiful ??? Guess how much, go ahead, guess. Only a mere mortgage payment!

Allow me to introduce, the Ambre spectator stiletto by Hermes $1,275.00. *sigh*

I was sorting through photo's on my computer and found this shot of the leaf pile in front of our house from last fall,

and then the snow pile that took it's place.

I can't wait to catch a photo of the pile of sun shine that will be there in a few more months ☀

Off to scrub the kitchen floor, ya-hoo!

Did You Get Yours Yet???

Oooh, it's yummy inside! On my trip to Target this morning, i couldn't pass up the new 'Flea Market Style'. It's packed with beautiful pictures and inspiring idea's.

I also couldn't pass up this cute hand mirror and tray in the dollar zone (more like 2.50 zone) They came in such cute colors.

I can always find something i don't really need, but can't live without at Target!

Silhouettes

I've been noticing so many beautiful silhouettes showing up in decorating lately. They were all the rage over 100 years ago and again when i was growing up in the 60's. I love that this delicate art form is being recognized again and in so many creative ways.

I picked these little silhouettes up at Salvation Army this morning. Aren't they dear?

I'm afraid i let out an audible *gasp* when i spotted them. (yep, got some strange looks!)

Such sweet little scenes!

These silhouettes are of my parents in the early 60's...(love the pearl earring detail!)

This little chubbin was me at 1 yr...

and then again at 3.

I love the look of the white on black too.

This is a stamp by "Studio Calico". The picture is from the February issue of Creating Keepsakes.
Ummm, i had two more images but i think blogger ate them! Ballards has some cute boxes with silhouettes on the tops (they look really easy to make) and 'Victoria's' Jan/Feb issue had an article on making your own silhouettes. They include a template on their web site, victoriamag.com. I think i'll get out my tiny scissors and glasses (ugh) and give it a try! I'll let you know how i did. How was your day?

Really? More suitcases???

I know, i know, but aren't they beautiful? And what a deal they were!

I just read in the new issue of "Country Living" that the 'Wheary' bag with the faux raffia and chrome is going for around $225. Seriously??? I think i paid 8 bucks for mine at a garage sale. Gulp!

I think my favorite is this big beauty. It opens up like a wardrobe and after i get done with her makeover, she'll make a great side table for my bedroom. I started painting the outside of it yesterday and am lovin' how it looks! I'll share those pictures when i finish. I'm so excited!
Best of all, it's not even smelly! Yay!

The seller threw in this ginormous pin...not sure what it was in it's previous life, but now it's a key chain!
This pretty veggie bowl and a few of it's friends will look great in the kitchen.

Couldn't pass up these purses. I think i'll embellish them with old velvet flowers and ribbon.

These lacy under things will make beautiful frilly aprons.

And these little hand towels were just too cute to pass up! I also took home a big bag of miscellaneous jewelry, books and goodies. Now to find the time to turn this mish-mash of junkies into something wonderful! I still have plans in the back of my head to load up my gypsy wagon with other crafty friends and host a monthly 'yart' (yard and art) sale this spring. I've got plans! I've got junque! I just need time!

p.s. thank you mother nature for the snow day ; )

Bring It On!

Bring it on baby, i'm ready for ya! The local weather report for Michigan is lookin' snowy. Good gravy, did all those ice cubes and marshmallows finally work for the kids??? I just got back from Target and loaded up with hot chocolate mix, popcorn and yes, more marshmallows! No snow day is going to catch me by surprise!

I finally broke down and got myself those snuzzely Uggs i've been dreaming of. Just in time i believe. (My toes are thanking me) : ) I took in some fun estate sales this weekend, as soon as i load the pics, i'll share all my treasures. How is your day?

Puppy Snow Day ⁂

They flushed a marshmallow down the toilet, they wore their undies over their jammies they even did the 'snow day' dance by the light of the moon, but alas no snow day for the kids. We got one of those big fluffy snow falls last night that neatens and brightens everything up outside, but not enough to cancel school. It IS the perfect snow for a puppy snow day!

Rylee and Max love the snow fall, it bury's their toys just enough to make it an adventure finding them.

Snow tennis balls are the best!

Get a load of those glam snow covered eyelashes!

The best part is no soggy mittens or snow pants and boots to clean up! How is your day?
