Thrifted Treasures

Now that Father's Day has passed, it's safe to show you Sweet Mans gift- O.K. so there really wasn't much of a chance that he might actually read my blog and discover his surprise! Any hoo, i found these yummy antique decanters at a garage sale -$20 for all of them! I know! So happy!

I was lucky to find another piece of my mothers childhood china. It's a Homer Laughan pattern with the sweetest little blue birds on it.

And these lumpy meshy food covers

I fell in love with these two wrought iron Airedales. They weigh a ton! Perfect door stops, and better behaved than the Airedale we had when we were first married-much better!

Well, Ms. A and i have loaded up the car and are getting ready for our road trip to Iowa. She is competing in a National Forensics Tournament this weekend. My friend Joyce and her daughter (who is also competing) are riding with us, and she has it on good word that Iowa is a great state for antiquing! We just may have to leave our suitcases by the side of the road to make room for our finds. Sometimes a girl has to do, what a girl has to do!

Have a great week!

Tea Time

Tea anyone? While out treasure hunting today, i found this sweet collection of tea strainers.

Two of them had tags from the Chicago Worlds Fair Hall of Science." 1833-1933 A Century of Progress". Maybe they are souvenirs from 1933?

Ms. B thought this one would be perfect for the fairy garden-i think she's right.

This copper colored one is made in England and has a light bulb pull for its chain.

At .50¢a piece, i couldn't go home without them. Can you blame me?

I took home a pretty good haul today. Even found sweet man a fathers day present- but i can't show you yet, on the rare chance that he reads my blog!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Pinkalicious!

Ta Da!
All the elements cooperated and i was able to finish spray painting the outdoor furniture. I was also successful at pinkafying the lawn, my feet, the dogs tail and many curious insects. So sorry! I love how it turned out and the pop of color it gives to this part of the yard. I still have a can left over...hmmm, that old watering can could use a makeover, nothing is safe now!

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Go spray paint something!

Oh Deer!

We awoke this morning to Rylee and Max whining at the front window. What was it? A chipmunk? A bird? A squirrel?

Nope.

Just this beautiful deer making a breakfast of our hostas.

Niiice!

Can we keep her? Pleeease!

A Sneak Pink Peek

It started with a few pieces of boring mis-matched furniture...

and a can (or six) of 'Berry Pink' spray paint, and patiently waited for a day that wasn't too wet, rainy, windy, humid or sunny...

and began outdoor furniture make-over! Now i have to wait for another day that's not too wet, rainy, windy, humid or sunny to finish the other pieces! This may take a while. And a lot of spray paint. Some where in the heavens there is a small berry pink hole in the ozone ( right next to the one i created with hair spray in the 80's) with my name on it. I'm SO sorry ozone layer! I love you, i really do, but i love this pink furniture , too ♡

I'll post the pictures when it is all finished. Here is a little up-date on the old bunt pan i picked up at an estate sale a few weeks back- i drilled a few drainage holes in the bottom and made a planter out of it. Lovely! However, it leaves a rust stain on the deck. Not so lovely. Thus the plastic plate underneath. Eh, still think it's cute : )

Hope you 're having a great Thursday! And welcome to three new followers! Woo-hoo! Thanks for visiting my nest!

Charmed, I'm Sure

I'm a sucker for charm bracelets. I have several that were my mom's and her Aunts. Some were found and some collected. I have a couple that i collected as a kid. Raggedy Ann, Ziggy, Snoopy are just a few of my little girl 70's favorites.

I thought this group of vintage earrings would make a darling charm bracelet...so...

i started by clipping off the backings from the earrings and bending the remaining wire into a loop.

Then i added a jump ring and attached it to a bracelet.

Ta da! A cute flowery charm bracelet (modeled by the 'charming' Ms. A)

How is your Wednesday?
